Ryan Frey
Co-Founder | Development and Finance Manager
Ryan has worked in the building and development industry for more than 25 years. His career began in the Peace Corps, where he designed rural water systems in Bolivia, before moving into real estate development across Western Montana. He has managed multifamily buildings, single-family homes, and industrial spaces, as well as the design and entitlement of a 300-unit build-for-rent project that sold as a completed development.

Spencer Woith
Great Falls Project Partner
Keith was born and raised in Missoula. He has been a real estate investor for 12 years and has completed multiple successful development projects, often serving as the general contractor himself. He also leads the Missoula Real Estate Meetup, which brings together dozens of investors and industry professionals each month. Keith holds two master’s degrees, including one from Harvard Extension School, and lives in Missoula with his wife, Kira, and their two young sons. He has been focused on developing a workforce housing community since 2018, a commitment that continues to guide his work with Upslope.
Spencer has served as President of Woith Engineering since 2004 and brings more than two decades of experience in engineering and land development. Based in Great Falls, he has overseen projects across Montana and specializes in land surveying, site planning, and infrastructure development. He holds a B.S. in Construction Engineering Technology from Montana State University and brings both technical expertise and practical insight to the team. Sarah Kassem
Underwriting and Financial Analyst Leader
Sarah is a civil engineer and multifamily real estate investor based in Missoula. She works nationally as a hydraulic engineer, modeling river and coastal flooding and designing restoration projects. She also owns multifamily properties locally and applies her technical background to underwriting and financial modeling. As a first-generation immigrant, Sarah is passionate about real estate as a tool for building generational wealth and financial freedom for everyday people.
Sophie Zimmerman
Construction Operations
Sophie has extensive experience in construction operations, with a background in coordinating projects, managing subcontractors, and overseeing procurement. She has worked on numerous commercial projects and rehabs, balancing tight budgets and timelines to deliver quality results. She brings a calm approach under pressure and keeps people and processes aligned, helping projects stay on track and efficient. Originally from Minnesota, Sophie applies a steady, detail-oriented perspective to every build.
